Coming to a Train Station near You
There is nothing more frustrating than not being able to get to where you need to because simply getting from point-A to point-B costs so damn much. Sometimes we might look both ways before hopping. If we have money to spare on some days, we’ll always swipe somebody else through because it’s just the right thing to do. On most days, we dream of something like this happening on a mass scale ... This past week, a group of New York activists associated with ICE-Free NYC and Police Reform Organizing Project dolled out 500 dollars worth of MetroCard swipes to commuters. Given that cops and the City at large rake in hundreds of thousands of summonses every year basically punishing people for being poor, this is just a sweet little FTP moment.
